Julie Ann Harper started her career with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety on January 3, 2005 as a Probation Parole Officer in Wayne County. Julie worked in Greene and Wayne Counties until her untimely death on September 15, 2021. Julie was also a Member of the State Emergency Response Team within Division One.
Julie was a very active Member with the North Carolina Probation Parole Association. At her death, she was the Chair for Division One and an Executive Board Member. She held various positions within the Organization. Julie was a planner for the Spring Workshops within Division One. She was always willing to assist with obtaining Speakers/Trainers for Spring Workshops and ensuring that they received a gift. She would assist in any way she could with Golf Tournaments, Fundraisers, and Training Institutes.
On October 1, 2021, the North Carolina Probation Parole Association Executive Board Members voted to rename the NCPPA Scholarship to the Julie Ann Harper Memorial Scholarship to honor her for all the wonderful deeds she contributed to the Organization.
